Ini tulisan yang kubuat tahun 2007. Kacau banget pokoknya. Belum sempat direvisi. Tapi aku menghargai progresku. Ini tulisan kedua (kalau tidak salah) yang kukirimkan untuk suatu program. Dan bodohnya baru saja Elly ini sadar (tanggal 4 Oktober 2008) kalau dulu aplikasi pelamarannya kurang. Duh tololnya aku. Betapa tololnya. Tolol 1000 kali !!!!
Asian Muslim Action Network (AMAN) – Islam in Southeast Asia: Views from Within (Research Fellowship Program 2006-2007)
“ University students is the agent of change “. This kind of phrase frequently says by public figures to depict that university students beside have duty to reach their bachelor degree they also have another important role and function as the agent of change for theirselves, society and their nation in order to reach better life anywhere, anytime. University students always move in order to claim better condition. One of the tool as a place where students could express their idea of change is the student movement organization. Most of the inhabitant in Indonesia are Moslem. Therefore there are some of Moslem student movement organization in this country. For example there are Kesatuan Aksi Mahasiswa Muslim Indonesia (Indonesian Moslem student action unity), Ikatan Mahasiswa Muhammadiyah (Muhammadiyah student bound), Gerakan Mahasiswa Pembebasan (Freedom student movement) and so on. Each organization have it’s own background, aim dan method to reach the purpose of the organization. Although they differ in method to move, background and purpose, this organization have one main basic faith that is Islam. How organizations influence their member’s life and non academical university life are the question that will be answered by this research.
The purpose of this research is to know how far the Moslem student movement organization give its impact to their member and non academical university life. The research is meant to see positive side and the possibility of negative side from different kind Moslem student movement organization in the university life. This research didn’t meant to compare each organization to another. By this research its expected that there’s a kind of documentation of Islamic power that influenced the life of youth in an area. Besides there will be also the documentation of how many Moslem student movement organization in an area and their activity.
This research open possibility to advanced research that carried on in another area to see the effect of Moslem student movement organization in different social, politics, culture and geographical site. From the collection of this kind of research can be used to conclude how far Moslem student take part in non academical life in Indonesia. From this kind of research we can see also wether the basic of Islam still be wielded by the believers especially for the youth or the basic of Islam is just a memento from the past that can be easily forget.
